GURPS Online

GURPS is IMO best played as a tabletop RPG, same with any other RPG. You simply cant beat the face to face interaction. However online is easier to coordinate a group and has several advantages that make online role-playing more common and in some cases a better option. So how does GURPS do this? Lots of Virtual Table Top (VTT) programs and other things out there. I'll briefly list and discuss some here and Mook (author of How to be a GURPS GM) discusses it on his site as well.

Steve Jackson Games

They have their own channel here though its for the entire company, not GURPS specific so you'll have to look a bit.The forums are wonderfully friendly and well moderated.

Fantasy Grounds

Fantasy Grounds seems to be one of the more popular virtual tabletop systems out there. I personally have not used it so cant really speak to it but the demos look great.
Ronnke has been working on this as a fan project in cooperation with Steve Jackson Games.

Roll20

Roll20 is another popular VTT and the one used by the GMs in the games I am currently playing in. Its easy to use, though voice is laggy so we use another application to handle that. A number of fan made macros and character sheets are out there.

Discord

Discord is a text based chat server with some voice and video functionality. One of my gaming groups uses it for voice during the game as we found Roll20 voice to have too many issues. I know others also use it for their own gaming groups, play testing, and general community hangout. It was even used to handle Fnordcon 2020 when the physical event was canceled due to the Pandemic.
Mook's Discord Server - The largest GURPS server I know of, is a great place to talk with fellow GURPS fans and ask questions.
Gaming Ballistic Discord Server - Discussion on GURPS, TFT, and his other products, including sneak peaks and hints at things to come!
Most servers are private and invite only but if you know any that are public please contact me at refplace2000@yahoo.com and I will add them.
