2020 Candidates

Presidential Candidates

Ballotpedia list is a fantastic starting point and place to see bios, voting history, and FEC filings.
Below is a list of candidates who have formally announced or set up an exploration committee.

Republican

Democrat

  • Joe Biden.
Senators Sanders still needs votes from the remaining states to help him push the party left.  Also if Biden is forced to drop out that will help Sanders get the nomination.
Cost of Sanders losing to Clinton in 2016
  • 2017 45,000 American lives, 450 Billion Dollars
  • 2018 90,000 American lives, 900 Billion Dollars
  • 2019  135,000 American lives, 1.35 Trillion Dollars
Estimates based off studies estimating lives lost due to insurance costs from not covered medical care, including people who died after reaching their cap.  Dollar figure based off Yale study (Hardly a liberal outfit). Note that these estimates do not take into account lives and cost savings from preventative care benefits people would be using with Medicare for All. Also estimated loss of life from the Covid-19 Pandemic would be 1/3 to 1/2 the number and no one would have lost their health insurance from losing their job. That also would have helped people pay their bills. By the way the death rate from this used to be 26,000 annually before 2009. Brand New Congress

Nominate Form Use this form to nominate a candidate and they will begin the vetting process.
A Training for candidates March 22 to 24 (Not a BNC event but I heard about it from them)
Brand New Congress started after the 2016 election and is running candidates who do not take corporate PAC and donations.  This means they work for people first, not corporations first!
Any candidate they run receives my endorsement.

    Summary

Any of the progressive candidates above are in my opinion good choices. Some people on tight budgets are however looking for the most effective candidate they can hep, especially if they have no local candidate they can get behind.  So my top picks...

    • Bernie Sanders is a bit behind in the polls but he usually polls low because pollsters tend to favor those with landlines and older people. Biden is slipping, so I think its between Warren and Sanders, though the Dem party and media will prop up some so called centrist.
    • Steve Cox is up against Republican lite candidates in the primary, if he wins it will be Progressive vs. Conservative so a huge change in the Senate and a powerful message. Plus, getting rid of McConnell will be great!
    • Adrienne Bell came very close to winning in the general in 2018 (her first run) and should have a better chance in 2020 with more name ID.
    • Paula Jean Swearengin ran in 2016 against Joe Manchin (Democrat that votes with Republicans the most) so has better state recognition in 2020.
    • The Incumbents are likely to hold their seats but cant hurt to help them out.
    • Sara Gideon is another Senate seat and up against Susan Collins.

The ONLY Patriotic Republicans in Congress

Every other Republican in Congress should be voted out for putting party over country, blocking efforts to secure our elections systems and otherwise participating in foreign manipulation of our government. If you are for America you need to vote for America ahead of your favorite party or ideology. Once the corrupt people are gone then we can try to get politicians that agree with your values.

    Justin Amish
    David Jolie
James Lankford OK-Senate, has made weak efforts to try to secure our elections though afraid to stand up to his party leadership.
