Expanding the Setting

Expanding the Setting

These are books that specifically help you expand on a setting.

  • Boardroom and Curia For fleshing out organizations.
  • City Stats Stat up a town to see how big it is, average wealth levels, and how hard it is to find that right NPC or shop.
  • Meltdown and Fallout  Most useful for an After The End campaign, however it can work for Action! and other modern day games.
  • Dungeon Fantasy 16: Wilderness Adventures  Good for any low tech wilderness adventuring.
  • Dungeon Fantasy 17: Guilds Like Boardroom and Curia but focused on low ech guilds, especially with a fantasy bent.
  • Social Engineering  This helps design the social background of your world with an emphasis on how it relates to the PCs.
  • Social Engineering: Back To School Gives expanded rules for teaching and learning while also going over ideas for running a campaign based on a school or dojo.
  • Social Engineering: Pulling Rank Some alternate rules for using an organization as a patron, it also gives additional material and ideas for a campaign focused on the players belonging to a large organization.
  • Thaumatology: Urban Magics  This book goes over some of the possibilities on how magic would affect cities so can be useful in a campaign where magic is commonly used.
  • Medieval Demographics Made Easy This is a free PDF that gives guidelines for medieval settings, Its based off a cited work that apparently hasnt aged well since the scholar used the tax rolls for a particular year in Paris. But gives a convient starting point.
