Religion: Beschaving

The gods and goddesses of the Commenwealth are probably the largest in number and variety. Many cities were founded on and named after a particular god, but almost all have a temple district with temples devoted to a variety of gods and goddesses, as well as the city spirit.

Theology (Beschaving)
Most gods are narrowly focused but generally cooperative with each other. Priests use Affinity Magic (Source is Divine) but may have Affinity Skills from any member of the group, as long as the highest skill matches their primary god or goddess. Priests are required to tithe 10% of their income to their temple and additional donations are expected to those other deities they have, or expect to call upon.

Religious Character Abilities

Most priest characters use the Affinity magic system, and various forms of Blessed are appropriate for many servants - especially holy warriors.
GURPS Powers: Divine Favor is not a good fit, so powers based priests can use a variant of Sorceorous Empowerment found on the Generic Universal Eggplant blog.
This Modular Ability costs 15 points +6/level and takes 1 second per CP to change and includes the Physical enhancement.

Temple Districts

Every Commonwealth city has a Temple District, though villages typically only have a single building and towns a handful. Each has a prescribed layout of the central temple surrounded by concentric rings of temples, each oriented based on appropriate compass directions, with the more popular spirits closer to the center. The Temple District (always capitalize it, or risk divine wrath) is enclosed in a wall with 4 gate houses served by temple acolytes and guards on a rotating basis. Each gatehouse also serves as a temple to the local city spirit.
All clergy (including visiting ones) are expected to help out and temporary lodging is often available. Each temple will typically have a priest and a number of acolytes in permanent residence as well.
Temples are designed with similar basic layouts (this helps if they change ownership) and mainly the decor is different. The entrance leads to a meeting room for services, wings for individual ministration, basement for storage, and the back for offices and sleeping quarters.  Larger ones may have an upstairs for long term care and residents such as acolytes.
Once a week the clergy lead a mass ceremony of devotion, though often smaller ceremonies are held throughout the week, possibly just involving staff.
The central temple has an elevated dais surrounded by one or more praying areas (each able to hold up to 1,000 people, plus its own dais for the leader) for mass ceremonies.
All these ceremonies help provide deities and the temples with devotional energy which is used for among other things recharging holy power objects. Also each temple altar is its own power object which can be used as the temple priest directs.
