Computers
Computer technology is pretty standardized and prolific, A few companies specialize in specialty items but in general the technology is very mature TL 10. GURPS has several minor variations on computers from several books, this setting uses a special blend of those.
Hardware
Virtual interfaces are popular and any professional computer operator will have a Cable Interface jack [5]. Neural implants (Medium (Cyperspace) [10] are standard for the professional (and not so professional) class called netrunners and among many entertainers and gamers. More casual users often rely on neural induction helmets that achieve the same thing (Accessibility, Neuro helmet, -10%) [9] as the implants.
Megacomputer (Complexity 11); 20 tons; $10,000,000
Macroframe (Complexity 10); 2 tons; $1,000,000
Minicomputer/Mainframe (Complexity 9); 400 lbs; $100,000
Workstation/Cabinet (Complexity 8); 40 lbs; $10,000
Medium/Smaller desktop (Complexity 7); 4lbs; $1,000
Small/Tablet (Complexity 6); 0.4 Lbs; $100
Tiny/Smartphone (Complexity 5); 0.04 lbs; $50
Customizations
Compact weight *0.5; Cost *2
Dedicated weight *0.2; Cost *0.5
Hardened weight *2; Cost *2
High-Capacity Cost *1.5 (+50% more capacity in programs running)
Fast Cost *20; +1 Complexity.
Slow Cost *0.05; -1 Complexity.
Printed -1 Complexity
Quantum weight *2; Cost *10; Increases speed of most tasks. Standard option on virtual interface computers.
Software
Artificial Intelligence
A.I.s are uncommon, though not rare and the main restriction is on
cost and size requirements as they require Complexity 7+ systems. Complexity =(IQ/2)+3.
Security
Computer Security is typically bolstered by living beings jacked into a network. Computer Hacking is done through decking and netrunners use modified psionics rules.
