The Kingdom of Darkness
The Kingdom of Darkness is a small kingdom in the Land of Metal, on the border of the Land of Fire. The kingdom consists of several city states in a feudal system. Rulership is not inherited but assigned or approved by the King of Darkness. In reality there is a lot of political intrigue and jockeying for power among the ruling class and political assassination is not unheard of. However taking over a city does require approval by the King.
Climate and Ecology
One of the most dramatic features is the land is shrouded in eternal twilight or darkness. This is due to a cloud of ash from the Land of Fire that is magically reinforced and held overhead by a dedicated circle of royal mages. Between the city states is a mixture of desert like wastelands and cultivated hunting preserves with plants that rely on other things than light to thrive.
Social Relations
The Kingdom is hostile to its neighbors, with raids back and forth between them and sometimes outright warfare. Internally, power tends to be held by a small group of powerful necromancers and undead.
