The Striking Absence of Courage and Loyalty to America in the GOP and Amazing Self-entitlement

 The House voted to impeach Trump for sedition today, a small number of Republicans voted for it.  Apparently not a single Oklahoma Rep was among them.  So Rep Tom Cole, Rep Markwayne Mullin, Rep Kevin Hern, Rep Stephanie Bice, and local Rep Frank Lucas all voted in support of Sedition, just as they voted to encourage and give aid and comfort to seditionists by objecting to blocking the will of the voters in declaring Biden as the new President elect.

Some like Rep Tom Cole said it was just a parliamentary move, others think and have said letting Trump get away with attempting to overthrow the government as something that the country should just move beyond and forget about, such as our own Senator Lankford.

Meanwhile Republicans are screaming more about losing book deals (Senator Hawley), being censored by a few losing social media accounts and saying that prevents them from talking to people (duh you can go on TV or radio anytime you want to!).Also seriously does any Congress person actually read or understand the Constitution? or do they know but just think their voters are too lazy or stupid to, and will just believe whatever they are told? Or even more petty crying about not being able to carry guns onto the House floor and walking through metal detectors.  How out of touch and self entitled are these people? Regular Americans are typically not allowed to carry guns on their jobs, many schools have metal detectors, and have they boarded a plane lately? But somehow they think they are special and should be able to carry a gun in a supposedly secure location. Consider that several were and still are engaged in active sedition and some calling for the death of fellow congress people. At least 4 were involved in organizing the rally that led to the riot and one Rep Lauren Boebert is an admitted conspiracy theorist and was sending the location during the riot Speaker Pelosi's location to her followers. There were only two credible reasons to do that 1) Hoping the rioters would go after Pelosi and leave the floor alone (in hopes of protecting herself) or 2) Hoping they could reach Pelosi.  Why should she be allowed in office, much less to carry a gun? Apparently our own Rep Mullin was also among those crying about the metal detectors.

So these are the priority issues of the GOP, not the people who died or risked their lives to save their lives (By the way, many Republicans, including Senator Graham and some from the Oklahoma delegation were yelling at the Capital Police for not doing enough during the crisis.  We even have American service members sleeping on the Capital floor to protect their ass. While as a former service member myself I can say this is not the most uncomfortable billet, its shameful that Republicans in office are devaluing that and putting their own personal privilege's over and above the people sacrificing to protect the self-entitled spoiled brats.

When will Republican voters ever hold them accountable?  Will they ever do so? Or is racism so that damm important to you? Can't really be anti-abortion based on the reckless disregard for human life. Maybe its just the lie about taxes.  Shameful whatever the reason is.

The Trump and FoxNews shutdown

So Senator McConnell decided not to accept the House bill to open the government, even though its the same one that passed the US Senate but was shot down by Trump after Fox News complained about it and demanded a shutdown.
Monday will tie for #2 and Friday tie for #1 in longest US shutdowns.

The GOP continues to follow Trump over the cliff, most of them know the wall is a big waste of money and will do very little to stop illegal immigration, yet they are willing to hold America hostage and let tens of thousands of Americans lose their homes for a simple talking point.

Will the GOP eventually cave to common sense, political outrage, and a sense for their own survival?
Will the Dems eventually cave to political outrage or maybe just decency and bow to the terrorists?
If the Dems cave first will they message it correctly? Will they be more vulnerable and the GOP encouraged to do more such hostage taking?
Trump and the GOP already have done it multiple times, including children (holding up CHIP) and veterans (Holding some VA benefits hostage) so we know they are willing.

No matter what happens here, it seems Americans lose.

The Case for Conspiracy against the United States against the GOP

I uploaded this video and wanted to give my reps a chance to look it over before posting about it.
I am heartened by the Alabama race and some Republicans coming out against Roy Moore.  While I accept the argument that its possible not all the women told the truth.  However you only had to listen to his own word during his interview on Sean Hannity to see that he did indeed do at least some of what he was accused.  Even if as he said he did not 'commonly' do it.

However, while the moral issues and hypocrisy of the GOP infuriate me that is not related to this video. It is the GOP providing cover and enabling the criminal actions of the President and many in his cabinet.

A letter to my Senators on their horrible tax bill.

Dear Senator Lankford and Senator Inhofe,
This is a horrible bill.
It increases the debt, takes away health care for people through backdoor legislation with the repeal of the mandate, and promotes big business over small business (especially service industry, one of the largest segments) all to give more money to the richest people and large corporations . There is nothing in this plan that will increase wages or new jobs, instead the money will be used for stock buybacks, dividends, exec bonuses, increased automation, and mergers so will actually cost jobs.
Companies will only hire more people if they need more work, not just because they have more money.  To grow the economy you have to work on the demand side, not the supply side.
Lowering taxes is fine but it needs to be fair, honest in its presentation, and budget neutral or better.
Final comment on the estate tax, why cut it? It was designed to prevent an aristocracy class and if Americans have to pay taxes on gifted money why not inherited money?

Vote no on this bill and rework it from the ground up, in bipartisan fashion and with public input.
Not rushed legislation so you can claim a victory for your donors over the American people.

We NEED to get rid of establishment politicians, America has been taken over by corporations and wealthy donors and now works against the principles it was founded on. Vote for new blood that promises to only take individual donations so they work for the majority of America.

GOP one step closer to putting America into another recession

So the Senate approved the budget which is built around cutting taxes.  Most of the taxes cut will be for the richest people with many middle income people actually paying more in taxes according to the CBO.  Further, cuts to Medicare and Medicaid and an increase in the deficit will cause problems down the road.
However the real lie here is that the corporations getting tax breaks will boost productivity and boost the economy.  We have seen this before and they will use the money to buy back stocks and consolidate by buying competitors which will cost jobs.  When companies put more money into automation and buy other companies they need fewer workers so lay people off.
Ask your representative how this helps America and do not let them give you spin or pie in the sky promises.  See if they can offer any provable history that this actually works.  They will have none to offer.  I have been challenging my reps for two months now and get nothing but crickets on the issue.

You might have heard this poem by German pastor Martin Niemoller or one of the variations of it.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Sound familiar? The following are not posted in any special order....

• The GOP attacked the Socialists than the Trade Unions, then the Left and then minorities and the poor and middle class.
• With President Trump it has gotten more transparent and blatant.
• Trump attacked and objectified women, the GOP stood by.
• Trump called Mexicans rapists and murders, the GOP stood by.
• Trump called for a Muslim ban and the GOP supported or simply stood by.
• Trump ran on Universal Health Care, the GOP heard "Repeal and Replace" and cheered him on.  Not caring about the promise made to Americans but hearing what they wanted which was to get rid of the Democrats Health Care (even if it was largely Mit Romminy's a GOP plan).
• Trump feels insulted he could not get the job done and says will let the AHCA implode because he will stop funding, the GOP cheered.  After all they have already been pulling this tactic by making a month to month decision during President Obamas term to keep the insurance companies nervous and the market unstable.
• Trump violated his oath of office starting on Day one, the GOP stood by.
• Trump compared a confederate general who fought against the USA with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and the GOP stood by.
• Trump is using the White House to line his pockets and promote his properties, the GOP stands aside.
• Trump lies to the public on a daily basis, the GOP stands aside and lets it happen.
• Trump refuses to meet with veterans and sends out Ammorsa to meet them because he cant be bothered, the GOP is quiet.
• Trump wont pay the Veterans charity he did a fund raiser for until they take it to the media. theGOP stands by.
• Trump insults a disabled reporter, a war veteran and more and the GOP stands aside.
• Trump attacks the media and tries to censor the press, the GOP stands by.
• Trump pulls climate change data from government websites and issues gag orders, the GOP stands by.
• Trump attempts to intimidate federal prosecutors and the FBI, the GOP stands by.
• Trump kicks the Secret Service to the street because they ran out of money paying his hotel for office space to protect Trump and his people, the GOP stands by.
• Trump violates the property of an Indian reservation to boost the stock he has in an oil company, the GOP stands by.

And finally...

Trump blames both sides for the death of a young woman, instead of the typical presidential call he claims the mother complimented him and otherwise uses that press conference to brag about himself.

He started off the last conference stating how great a job he has done with the economy (News flash the first year is still based on the previous years policies as it takes time for new company fiscal years) and ended it by bragging he has one of the biggest wineries in the USA. He never once mentioned Heather Heyer by name.  I doubt he even bothered to think about her or remember her name.

And though we are hearing a lot of noise only TWO GOP members have called him out on it by name,  The rest continue to aid and abet this enemy of our country and try to provide him cover so they can push their agenda.  Because Party over Country, profit and self interest over patriotism

So far Senators McCain and Graham are the only ones to call Trump out on this by name.

Senator Graham remembers that the government was set up to be a check and balance against abuse of Power.

Senator Sasse and Senator Grassley reportedly also came out against the idea.
I wish my Senator James Lankford (forget the useless snowball Senator Inhoffe he cant get his head out of the sand) would do the same.
Additionally Graham says he will introduce legislation (I'm sure Trump will veto it) to protect special prosecutors in the future.  Good news for America, at least a few GOP members are stepping up to their responsibility.

Democrat vs. Republican: A study in Ethics and Morality

Readers of this blog may think I hate the Republicans and like the Democrats.
That is only half true as I hate both parties.  Not all individuals in both, but overall both stink.

However the latest GOP attempt to pass something, ANYTHING along the lines of repeal for Obamacare (The Affordable Health Care Act) shows the hypocrisy in a dramatic (though not the only) way.
Republicans screamed that not enough time was taken to discuss the AHCA and that it was passed without bi-partisan support.
The AHCA was debated in the senate for a month and numerous GOP amendments added to it.  This after taking about a year to pass through various committees, being scored by the CBO, and public exposure and discussion.
And now?
Republicans have been screaming for repeal and Replace for over 7 years yet never bothered to actually work on a plan.  If they had we would have seen it by now.
Instead they keep coming up with rushed plans behind closed doors where not even all party members get to carefully examine it before voting on it.  They deliberately exclude and dont even try to get Democratic support. Granted getting support to repeal a bill that you passed and so many of your party sacrificed for would be a tough sell but to not even try?
Further after failure after repeated failure the GOP Senate decided to just call for a procedural vote on a bill none had seen just so they could check a box.
Understand that this is not actually passing anything but it is a step towards it. The idea i to vote quickly on whatever Mitch McConnel wrote and try to hash it out in reconciliation between House and Senate leadership. Democrats are expected to try and push amendments in order to slow things down enough that people will have a chance to read it.

Do you understand the difference here?
Democrats worked on trying to make health care better for over a year and let the public and Republicans look it over and put in amendments and comments. Their President asked them to take a stand for making Health Care better (not perfect but it did slow down premium rate growth and saved lives) and they fell on their swords and many lost their seat as people did not really understand what was really going on. Democrats suck at messaging compared to Republicans, witness how much more popular the AHCA is now after Republican attacks and people have a chance to see the real benefits to them compared to GOP plans.
However now that they have the power the Republicans refused to do the homework on crafting a bill (7 years and nothing to show for it?) and keep trying to sneak something past not only the Democrats and the American People but others in their own party as well.  They violate everything they complained about before.
Republicans have demonstrated they are short on ethics, morality, and commitment.

Right now many want to pass something, anything so they can go home and aid they kept their promise to Repeal and replace.  They forget they also promised to make it better and transparent.
What they did not forget is to cut taxes to their wealthy donors.

I hope people remember what happens here and hold them accountable.  Though they are trying to procrastinate and pull one over us by pushing out most of the damage for two years.
So they hope to get reelected because people wont realize the costs in time.

In summary both parties are full of problems but at least the Democrats are less bankrupt than the Republicans.  Lets replace them all by voting in fresh faces at Brand New Congress!

Trumps Thashes about to try and distract

I have been worried about and telling as many people as I can, including my legislatures that Trump is willing to damage and possibly even destroy the the country to distract people from his crimes and poor poll numbers.
Consider the latest effort, banning and removing Transgender  people from the military. Imagine fighting for the country in say Afghanistan and you suddenly hear you may be forcibly discharged from the military, Possibly losing all benefits you earned from your service and possibly facing felony charges depending on how they go about that discharge.
Why?  Money? Congress was already looking at exempting medical expenses from their benefits (Hint: Make it up by having Trump skip a visit or two to his resort and tax subsidized property Mara Lago).
What about his shameful speech to the Boy Scouts? Was it self aggrandizement and his typical bragging and mud slinging?  Or was it another effort to distract us?

Now it is true that so far none of these and other efforts are very effective, firing Comey did not stop the Russia investigation and if he fires Sessions and Roesenstein in efforts to stop Meuller even the cowardly and sycophantic GOP will likely step up and reenact the Special Counsel/Prosecutor law.
At least I hope so.

However even though he has had more resignations and firings than any other President in history at this stage we see little more than lip service by the GOP. Even though we have plenty of evidence of actual crimes we see stalled investigations as the GOP continues to protect him because they have chosen to put party ahead of country.
At some point they will realize its not working and even if they dont change priorities they will see that this attitude will cost them the power and seats they so crave.
I have informed Senator Lankford, Senator Inhofe and Rep Lucas (my legislative reps) that they are encroaching on becoming accessories after the fact and violating their oath of office.
Everyone who cares about America needs to do the same.

Elected officials need to realize and be reminded that they work for the People not a few ultra wealthy or corporate donors. Lining their pockets by selling out the country will eventually cost them.  It is up to us to see if they get away with it in this world or have to wait till they come before God.

Take this snowball Senator

Senator Inhofe became infamous when he took a snowball onto the congressional floor and said that was proof climate change was a hoax.

What is most concerning is not just the upward trend but how sharply it goes up in recent years.
Even the oil companies wanted us to stay in the Paris Accords becasue they know climate change is real and needs to be addressed.

I personally dont see some of the most dramatic claims happening.
However just a few degrees overall temperature has resulted in rising sea levels, increased and more severe storm activity (heat helps drive storms, especially hurricanes) and harsher summers.

We need to do something about it and get people in government who think about the future rather than the next news cycle..

An Open Letter to Senator Lankford

Dear Senator Lankford,

I hope this letter reaches you for it is very important to me.

After the Alexandria shooting you asked us to tone down the rhetoric.  The thing is however for many of us it is not just rhetoric but life or death issues that we struggle with every day. Both parties have betrayed the American people and sold out to corporate interests. Our anger is real, not just rhetoric and if you can understand and choose to deal with it we may yet save our country.

I suspect most of your constituent are contacting you about health care and many on climate change and the environment as well as jobs.  These are all important issues to me as well. However the most important issue to me and the thing that helps me fight through my pain and motivate me to volunteer for my PAC is the betrayal of my government. Even though I cant find a job and am desperately waiting to see if disability goes through in time it is my anger at President Trump and the support he enjoys from the GOP. I find it hard to push past my depression enough just to keep myself alive and do certain basic things that could extend my life, pride kept me from asking for disability until it was probably too late.  Yet my anger and hatred can still motivate me to try and keep him from destroying my country.

It is not just rhetoric but life and death and a betrayal of a country I still love and want to protect.  I am not alone, the shooter in Alexandria in my view did not want to kill anyone, I doubt anyone is that bad a shot.  Instead I think he had given up on life an wanted to make a political statement as his last act. Unlike right wing conservative extremists he did not bomb a church, kill a little Muslim girl with a bat, shoot up a gay night club, or any of the other things that seem to be more and more common every year. Nor did he, like the desperate and hopeless (or yes some of the mentally ill) go on a random shooting spree.  Instead he made a patriotic act of defiance and went for the leadership. I would prefer not to see any of that but if we have to see more people killing people out of anger, frustration and sheer desperation I hope you understand why I feel it should be more of the latter than the former. It is not immigrants, the GLBTQ community, minorities, or different religions that are destroying America it is our leadership.

All right I hope I have established how important I think this issue is so now on to laying it out for you.

President Trump is guilty of lying with a frequency we have never seen before, he violates the Emolument clause, attacks the media, uses his office to advertise his properties and line his pockets, pushes away our allies and embraces our enemies.  All while the GOP sings his praises, makes excuses for him and has become our modern day Nero with Trump as the mother.

I do not regard the Democrats as much better but right now you are in charge so the responsibility is yours. Having met you once I consider you intelligent and I think actually care about the country.  I don’t side with your views on many issues but I hope I am right and you care for this country.  I am not bothering with Senator Inhofe or Rep Frank Lucas as I do not have the same impression and hope for them. Heck I can even see the difference when I call your various staffs.  I am volunteering for Brand New Congress as I think it is the last hope for peaceful government reform. However your in charge now and maybe, just maybe you can help stop the violence or even civil war I see us headed towards.

As you sit on the Intelligence committee you have access to more information than I do but let me list what I as a civilian see.  President Trump did not win the election as a conservative republican; he won as an anti-establishment candidate against a corporate and establishment democrat. He had the lowest approval ratings of any previous President and many people did not trust him.  Yet people were desperate for change and he promised that.  They should have known better and the GOP should have been able to choose someone else instead of him as the best they had to offer. Both parties failed America. People are still desperate and tired of being lied to and politicians choosing party over country. I appeal to you to impeach him as soon as possible and curb his excesses as much as possible until he becomes  unpopular enough the GOP is willing to do so. I appeal to your sense of morality and patriotism as regards the following issues.

Turkey: He and Flynn asked to hold off helping the Kurds against ISIS because Turkey wanted that and both were taking money from the Turkish government. Flynn was directly paid and Trump has a hotel they reportedly increased support for. As a member of the Intelligence Committee I suspect you can easily check out how true this is. If true I consider this treason as we are at war with ISIS.

Russia: There are so many people around him with ties to Russia it is amazing the GOP does not seem to care.  Some of these may indeed be legitimate, however why does he fight investigation so hard?  Why did so many of his people withhold that information on their security forms? Why did both Sessions and Comey testify under oath that he never asked about election meddling? I was disappointed to see you not press that issue. We have reports of financial ties to Russia and China and I do not for a moment believe he will put the countries interests over his business ones.  Do you?

Allies: He treats our allies as corporate rivals, treating handshakes as arm wrestling contests, shoving a Prime Minister to get in front of the camera, lectures them in front of the NATO 9-11 memorial with barely a mention of the sacrifice they went to on our behalf at that time. I can barely walk and yet I would have walked with them rather than follow in a golf cart. There is more but you are aware of that.

Emolument and Graft: He is in violation of this every day.  Diplomats and companies stay at his properties or pay club dues (which he doubled at Mara Lago) for access.  He used the White House to advertise his property and has the taxpayer funnel money into them for his weekend getaways and even official functions such as meetings with ambassadors. Turkey moved their convention from the Ritz to his place. China just happened to grant him and his family Trademarks. His brand is growing and he is getting more and more wealthy and yet we do not even know how deep his foreign ties are because he hides his taxes. He approved DAPLE while holding stock in the company, he wants to sell off public lands to his friends and make the bankers wealthy by deregulation (even though it will likely cause another recession when we have to bail them out again).

Maybe the country could survive his bungling of foreign affairs and general incompetence but that the GOP protects him on the above is enraging. And it will cost them.

An open letter to my Congress (Oklahoma)

Dear Senator James Lankford, Senator Jim Inhoffe, and Rep Frank Lucas,

The Republican party used to represent themselves as the party of patriots and pro law enforcement.
There was even some evidence to support this.  Sadly things have changed and the party is now more concerned with itself than American values or even the country itself.

If Hillary Clinton had won you would not accept any of this mess that President Trump has created. However Republicans continue to throw themselves on the sword trying to provide cover for President Trump.
The latest two scandals (its sad that I have to put a date on that but as of May 13, who knows what will happen in a few days) involve of course Russia. I served during the cold war under President Reagan and remember well the history of the Soviet Union and modern Russia is not much different.
First up: The President of the United States barred the US Press from a meeting in the Oval Office and allowed the Russian press in instead for his meeting with the Russian ambassador.
OK I am sure the Secret Service did a good job sweeping for bugs afterwards, and hopefully someone made sure no classified documents were in sight for the cameras.  But choosing Russian press over American press?  Really your ok with that?  Because I have not see any objection from any of you.
Next up: As of Friday all I have heard in watching the press and talking to your staff so far is support or a wait and see lukewarm support. If this had been Hillary Clinton who fired Director Comey the party would be screaming for her head. Remember Loretta Lynch talking to Bill Clinton?
It should not be ok for one party to get vilified for something and the other to get a pass or wore approval for similar (in this case worse) actions. Even the manner in which it was done should have raised at least courtesy objections. No dedicated public servant should find out about being fired by TV or even a letter.  This should have been done if it was done at all in person.

        There may or not be collusion between the Trump election staff and Russia but it is something a party of supposed patriots should be very interested in finding out. Even those who are not for America anymore should want to at least clear the stain, unless of course they think its true.
President Trumps own words said he was thinking about the Russian probe in firing Director Comey and than he tries to intimidate him via twitter before his Congressional appearance. Firing him will probably not slow down the investigation a lot but it likely will some just from the chaos.  It may get worse if the resources Director Comey asked for just before being fired are denied.  Also things depend on the new FBI Director and the direction he takes things and resources he allots or pulls away.

Understand that the President himself changed his story and denied the Rosenstein letter was the reason for the firing, That he directly asked the former Director if he was under investigation.
According to testimony from Acting Director McAbe former Director Comey enjoys broad support within the FBI so that "reason" is a lie. President Trump applauded the popularity and actions in late October of Director Comey, so it does not smell right to use those as reasons for the termination. The Russia thing is the only factor given by President Trump that has not been shown as a lie.
The loyalty pledge is another likely reason, though that is more of a do you believe President Trump or Director Comey on if that happened.  Ask that question point blank under oath when Comey testifies. If it comes down to whose word between the two to trust I know my choice will not be the one who lies to the public on an almost daily basis.
 The President should NOT require loyalty to him over loyalty to America and Republicans should not allow or encourage such appalling activity.

If you care about America at all you will work hard and openly to clean this mess up.
Since that seems to not be the case for most Republicans I appeal to your sense of self preservation.
Continuing to choose your party over America is a failing strategy, check how well Congress polls on average.  President Trump did not win because he was a Republican, he won because he presented himself as anti-establishment and enough people believed him. Continuing to provide cover when the President contradicts himself and the facts, allowing him to steal from taxpayers to line his pockets, support and empower Russia, abuse his power and influence.
You should constantly ask yourself "Would I stay quiet if President Obama did this?"  The answer should never be it is bad if a Democrat does it but ok if a Republican does it.

Before the election I predicted that if Trump won impeachment proceedings would start before the end of his first year.  I have not seen anything that changes my mind on that.  At some point the Republican party will have to stop providing cover and excuses and act.  If you are not ready yet I understand but consider that this will come back on you and the longer it goes on and the more you support him now the more it will cost you later.
Voters will remember the trips to Mara Lago and the WH advertising it on its website.
Voters will remember him doubling his membership fees for access to the president.  Remember the cry against the Clinton foundation? This is far more brazen.
Voters will remember the mistreatment of a dedicated law enforcement officer, some will feel it was about the Russia Probe, some will feel it was choosing the country over the president, and some will just be ticked at the manner and disrespect shown in how it was done.
Voters will remember a President who declares a war on American press but allows Russian Media access to the Oval office.
Voters will remember a President who bombs a runway as a show of force that was up and running the next day.
Voters will remember a President who tries to create a Royal family.
Voters will remember a President who gets gifts and payments from foreign countries (favorable loans, trademarks, business permits, favorable tax cuts, and rent).
Voters will remember the Russians interfering with our elections (I believe Hillary would have lost anyhow but that is not the point or my concern.) and the Republicans allowing it because they 'won'.

And finally, voters will remember a President who gets us in a war through his own incompetence or as an effort to distract from domestic issues.  IF that happens, and you can not really believe it wont, the Republican party will be fully culpable and responsible.

The Democratic party leadership is incompetent, and just as corrupt as the Republican party so may not pose much threat to you.  However continue down this path and even they will be able to pull a victory.  And America is waking up and getting more and more angry at both parties and if you do not start at least appearing to be for America over your party you will be out of office.
Maybe we can get an independent as President and certainly more in Congress.


PS: Action Plan
Consider that the republican party is in charge of two out of three branches of government.  I suggest you look to the future and  even though things are under your control now they wont be forever.
So put through real reform and protections for the next President.

• Require future Presidents show their taxes so the press can watch out for violations of the emoluments clause and conflicts of interest.
• Do a better job, establish and follow good and effective vetting procedures for Presidential appointments. Do not let us have another Flynn.  That should have been caught, after all he had been fired by the previous administration.
• Work out the Nepotism issue
• Empower the various ethics agencies.  Ok, I doubt either party would ever go for that.

Does Oklahoma Support the Comey firing?

Just got off the phone with my reps and Senator James Lankfords staff member Steve Carson said that the Senator fully supports Presidents Trumps decision,  I asked him his name so I could quote him and he reaffirmed that position. To be fair Senator Lankford did tweet a nice complimentary "You served the country well during a rough time" note last night.
Congressman Frank Lucas staff said he had no public position on the issue yet.
Senator James Inhofe staff said he would be making a statement later today and hand no statement at this time.


So one vote for full backing and others more cautious.
President Trump did have the legal authority to do this but his stated reasoning does not sound right.  The Clinton email investigation ended in Oct 2016 and the President has publicly thanked and complimented Comey on his handling of the issue.  To fire him now for that reason is highly suspicious.
Consider that he fired the following people after publicly supporting them.
Preet Bharara the US Attorney General for Southern New York who was investigating Fox News for among other things stock fraud after saying that he could keep his job a few months earlier.
Sally Yates the acting Attorney General for refusing to follow an order she felt was unlawful.  Note the the Courts blocked it so her legal expertise seems to have been correct. in that.
Coincidentally? She had warned the White House about Flynn shortly before that.
James Comey the FBI Director was fired over his handling of the email scandal even though President Trump publicly thanked and supported him for it months previously.  And fo course Comey was investigating his staff and associates for ties to Russia.

Almost every politician is corrupt and takes money for votes or otherwise abuse their powers of office instead of serving the public good.  Americans know and understand this and it is part of the reason we have so much voter apathy and low voter turnout.
However the republican party has gone too far and so blatantly that all Americans, regardless of ideology should be angered and in fear for our country.

Consider the White House was advertising Mar A Lago till protests forced them to take it down.
The membership fee was doubled from $100,000 a year to $200,000 a year after President Trump took office and he has provided members pay for access to him and foreign dignitaries.  Plus the advertising and rental to the government in his properties in New York and elsewhere, all at taxpayer expense. His son in law was set to make a billion dollar profit on a property in new York till the press made it known and the Chinese backed out. His son in laws sister hinted that if you invest $5000,000 in our real estate properties we will get you a Visa and path to US Citizenship.

President Trump refuses to reveal his taxes as he promised multiple times on the campaign which would let us see more of his financial ties to Russia and other governments.
The Chinese government suddenly approved trademarks to his daughter after the election.
He compliments the leader of Turkey for what is considered a corrupt election where of course he coincidentally happens to have a building.
The news is all over the place if you bother to look for it so I wont go on.
The thing is that he and his party are selling out Amercia.  Besides the money we have an assault on the EPA, him issuing gag orders, taking info down from the website and replacing scientist with business people, His assaults on the press whom he feels should work for him not you and me, etc.


We need a new congress, one that puts America ahead of personal gain and that consider serving in office like our military does as a service to the country not their own pocketbook.
I support the Brand New Congress and all patriots should as well.  Even if you are conservative and anti liberal they will run candidates among both parties as long as they dont take corporate donor money.  Once we have cleaned out the congress (and yes it will be hard but nothing good comes easy) than we can have an honest debate on other issues.  Corruption is an enemy to all of America and must be our priority.
